Mike Clink

Mike Clink with Steven Tyler

Mike Clink is best known for producing the incredible debut album for Guns N’ Roses. This record, combined with the four follow up albums that Mike produced for the band, sold over 35 million copies in the US alone.

Mike Clink started his career as an engineer at the famed Record Plant, recording such bands as Metallica (including tracks found on “Garage, Inc.”), UFO (including “Strangers In The Night”), Jefferson Starship, The Babys, Heart, Eddie Money, and many others.

Clink began producing in 1987. Steve Kurutz at www.allmusic.com writes about one of Clink’s earliest production experiences: “…after a series of failed attempts, a young band named Guns N' Roses asked Clink to produce their debut album, ‘Appetite For Destruction’… Channeling the unruly GNR's energy into a cohesive, landmark album was no easy task, and because of it Clink is regarded as a man who knows how to get the best results from the acts he works for.”

“Clink is also known to choose his projects carefully and, rather than take on every big name act that has been offered to him, he has carved out a smaller, but credible, portfolio of production credits. Those credits include, Megadeth's Rust in Peace (arguably speed metal's finest hour)…and I Mother Earth's [Juno award winner] ‘Dig’.”

Mike has been involved in a variety of projects. He recorded and mixed the live half-time show for Superbowl XXXV that featured Aerosmith, ‘N Sync, Nelly, and Britney Spears. He recorded and mixed a live television special for Union Underground, and he produced an album for Pure Rubbish (a group of 16 year olds signed to Ozzy Osbourne’s label, Divine Records). And he produced Camp Freddy which features featuring Dave Navarro (of JANE'S ADDICTION) on guitar, Billy Morrison (of THE CULT) on guitar, Matt Sorrum (of The Cult, Guns N' Roses, VELVET REVOLVER) on drums, Donovan Leitch (of NANCY BOY) on vocals, and some very special guest artists.
